WHUR 96.3 FM, the flagship station of the Howard University Radio Network. is making some new and exciting moves in digital media.  The powerhouse station will unveil its new digital app Wednesday, April 11th at 12 p.m. that will give listeners the latest in interactive tools to keep them engaged, informed, and entertained.

The app will allow users to sign-up to receive alerts for breaking news, new music, contests, and events.  “We’re thrilled to launch this new app. We want our listeners to have access to great music and information to guide them through their day” said WHUR General Manger Jim Watkins.

WHUR has always been a trailblazer when it comes to the latest in technology.  The station was the first in the DC market to go HD and the new app helps WHUR to stay heads and shoulders above its competitors, added Watkins.   The app has multiple features, including allowing listeners to stay connected with their favorite on-air personalities using the “open mic.”  For music lovers, they will get song alerts to let them know about their favorite artists and songs.
