Epic logoEpic Records has promoted Traci Adams to EVP of Promotion. Her expanded duties will now include overseeing all promotional campaigns in the Urban space for the label, including Urban, Hip-Hop, and Urban AC formats. She will report to Epic Records President Sylvia Rhone, who commented, “Traci is undeniably a powerhouse in promotion. Her appointment to EVP puts her at the head of the class.”
Adams began her music industry career as an intern for LaFace Records in Atlanta while attending Savannah State University. Her first job after graduation was at Radio One’s WFUN-St. Louis, starting as a Programming Assistant and working her way up to MD in 2001. Two years later Adams relocated to Chicago, Washington, D.C. and then New York with Island Def Jam as Northeast Regional rep, and was promoted to National Director of Promotion in July 2008. In 2012 Adams joined Epic Records as Vice President of Promotion, and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2014.
Commenting on her newly enhanced position, Adams said, “I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue growing in an industry that I love. It’s been a tremendous experience to work alongside Sylvia Rhone, who is truly one of the legends of this business. I look forward to grooming executive talent and breaking new artists at the level that has made Epic Records such an iconic label.”
