Detroit radio veteran Shay Lewis, better known as “Shay Shay,” has resigned from the midday show on Beasley’s WMGC (105.1 The Bounce), Detroit’s Throwback Hip Hop & R&B. According to Bounce PD/Beasley National Urban Format Captain John Candelaria, Lewis has accepted a position outside of radio and will be announcing it soon. For her part, Lewis announced her departure in a Facebook post.
Lewis was originally teamed up with Evan “BiGG” Rose as co-host of The Morning Bounce with BiGG & Shay Shay, which debuted in March 2017, but she moved to mid-days after Rose left the station last November.

All that being said, 105-1 The Bounce in Detroit now has an immediate opening for a full-time midday talent. If you are creative, love to laugh, appreciate pop-culture, are a social media maven and enjoy engaging and connecting by getting out into community, we need you. We need a fresh, out-of-the-box thinker who can entertain and make people laugh on a daily basis (mastery with phones are a plus).
A strong background in social media, along with an excellent storytelling ability is a MUST! The ideal candidate can deliver fast-paced, topical content on the air and on social media platforms. No “four-and-out-the-door” types need apply. Sound like you? Please rush your package for this EOE position to John Candelaria at [email protected].
