WMXD-Detroit names Cheron Sanders PD Kevin Fleming June 28, 2019 Entertainment, Radio Buzz, Radio News Cheron Sanders has been elevated to the PD chair at iHeartMedia Urban AC WMXD (Mix 92.3)/Detroit. She was most recently APD of Mix and Urban sister WJLB. As PD of Mix 92.3, Sanders will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the station’s music, on-air personalities, programming, promotions and digital operations. She reports to Bill Black, who was recently named Director of Urban Programming for Mix 92.3 and WJLB. The promotion marks a return to the Mix PD chair for Sanders, who previously served as PD of WMXD and WJLB until March 2018, when Nate Bell was hired. Bell left the company in March of this year. Sanders joined iHeartMedia in 2001 and over that time has held a number of other positions while working for WJLB and Mix 92.3, including traffic reporter and midday host.
