Cumulus Media has promoted veteran radio programming pro Kenny Smoov to Vice President, Urban Formats. In his new role, Smoov will serve as a corporate programming resource for the company’s 37 Urban-formatted stations in 25 markets. Smoov, who joined Cumulus in 2003 will remain in his current role as PD of Urban AC WQQK (92Q)/Nashville and host of 92Q’s Kenny Smoov Morning Show.
Smoov has also programmed stations in New Orleans, Greensboro, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC. A Desert Storm veteran, Smoov has been honored for his work as The Tennessean‘s “2017 Favorite Radio Personality of the Year,” was recognized as a Billboard Radio Personality of the Year (Small Market), and he has received an NAACP Image Award, among other honors.
