Derek Harper upped to OM of Radio One Atlanta Kevin Fleming October 31, 2019 Entertainment, Radio Buzz, Radio News Derek Harper has been promoted to Operations Manager for Radio One’s Atlanta group, giving him operational oversight of all four radio stations — Urban WHTA (Hot 107.9), Urban AC WAMJ (Majic 107.5/97.5), Urban Oldies WAMJ-HD2 (Classix 102.9) and Urban Gospel WPZE (Praise 102.5). In making the announcement of Harper’s upgrade, Tim Davies, Regional VP & GM, remarked, “Derek knows the Atlanta market better than anyone I know. He has been key to the growth of our top rated Urban AC Majic 107.5/97.5 and Praise 102.5, and now he can successfully lead the entire programming team!” Colby Colb, VP of Programming, added, “This promotion is well earned and deserved; Derek is one of the smartest programmers I have ever worked with, and I’m excited to see him expand his role in the ATL.” Harper, an 18-year Radio One veteran, will continue to serve as Format Captain for Radio One/REACH Media’s Inspirational formats.
