The 2019 PALM Freshman Class

Since 2008 XXL magazine has released its annual list of new rappers they see making a lasting impact in hip-hop called the XXL Freshman Class. These lists have included some household names in rap like Kid Cudi, French Montana, Fetty Wap, Vince Staples, to the late greats like Nipsey Hussle, XXXTENTACION, and Mac Miller.

This year’s XXL Freshman class featured Megan the Stallion, Roddy Rich, Lil Mosey, Y.K. Osiris, Tierra Whack, Blueface, YBN Cordae, Dababy, Comethazine.

I wanted to take a stab at the action, and as a future A&R, I figured the announcement of the XXL Freshman class would be the perfect opportunity to roll out the 2019 P A L M Freshman Class.

Rules: must be a rapper (hip-hop artist), must have a project that dropped this year, must be killing it!
