Tragedy has struck the Los Angeles Hip-Hop scene again. Jameon Davis, better known by his stage name Ketchy the Great was hit by a car on Monday (February 15th, 2021) and killed. Ketchy was a member of the Stinc Team, the collective formed by his good friend and frequent collaborator Drakeo the Ruler.

Ketchy was just released from prison in August of 2020 for an arrest in 2018 when he spray painted graffiti in his and Ralfy the Plug’s video for “The Right Decision.” Because Stinc Team had been labeled a gang by the Los Angeles County District Attorney, he was charged with vandalism with a gang enhancement and witness intimidation with gang enhancement. He ultimately spent two years and 10 months in prison.

In December 2020, I was honored to have Ketchy as a guest on PALMCAST. I hope his story inspires others to keep their heads high and keep grinding no matter the circumstance.

Ketchy the Great had several collaborations with Shorline Mafia, 03 Greedo, and Drakeo the Ruler. He released his 2019 mixtape Free Sauce from behind bars. Some of biggest songs to date included “If I Go Broke,” and “Another One.”

Watch my four part conversation with Ketchy the Great below. Rest in Power KETCHUP (Killing Everything That Can’t Help Us Prosper / Keeping Everything That Can Help Us Profit).
