Phylicia Rashad is taking on a new important leadership role … joining Howard University as Dean of its recently reestablished College of Fine Arts.

The iconic actress — best known for her role as Clair Huxtable on “The Cosby Show” — will begin her gig at the historically Black research university on July 1 … according to the college.

Rashad’s a Howard alum — as well as a former sister of Alpha Kappa Alpha — who graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in fine arts … so it seems like a pretty perfect fit.
