2022 Super Bowl Haftime Show — Inglewood’s SoFi will be So Fly! Kevin Fleming September 30, 2021 Business News, Music News, Sports News Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, and Snoop Dogg will all take the stage at the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show. The news was announced by all of the artists and Pepsi on Thursday afternoon. The performance is scheduled to take place on February 13, 2022 in Los Angeles at the spectacular SoFi Stadium. The Super Bowl announcement arrives not long after Kendrick’s earlier news that he has a new album on the way, though he hasn’t shared any other release details. Dr. Dre wrote on Instagram that the performance “will introduce the next saga of my career.” For L.A.’s own Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar, the performance will also represent home field advantage. Dr. Dre said, “The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career. I’m grateful to JAY-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.” This event will mark the third Super Bowl Halftime Show collaboration between Pepsi, the NFL and Roc Nation — in 2020, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira performed at Super Bowl LIV in Miami, while The Weeknd headlined last year’s halftime show in Tampa. In a statement, Roc Nation Founder Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter said, “On February 13, 2022, at the Super Bowl LVI in Inglewood, California, in the new SoFi Stadium, Dr. Dre, a musical visionary from Compton, Snoop Dogg, an icon from Long Beach, and Kendrick Lamar, a young musical pioneer in his own right, also from Compton, will take center field for a performance of a lifetime. They will be joined by the lyrical genius, Eminem, and the timeless Queen, Mary J. Blige. This is the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. This is history in the making.” The Weeknd recently released a making-of documentary about his sprawling pandemic-friendly halftime show last year. Related
