‘The Best Man: The Final Chapters’ is currently filming.
On his Instagram page, Malcolm D. Lee has been sharing snapshots with the cast, as filming for the Peacock series is already underway.

There is no word yet when the series will debut. However, we can estimate that it will likely air during the holiday season in 2022 or early 2023. The entire cast has returned to reprise their roles including Morris Chestnut (Lance), Melissa De Sousa (Shelby), Taye Diggs (Harper), Regina Hall (Candance), Terrence Howard (Quentin), Sanaa Lathan (Robyn), Nia Long (Jordan) and Harold Perrineau (Murch).

“The Best Man films were a cultural touchstone during my college days — and they’ve remained influential pop culture references to this day,” said Dayna Lynn North, who is co-writing the series. “I’ve grown up laughing with these characters, copying their dance moves, and grieving at their losses. I am overjoyed to be partnering with Malcolm D. Lee and this amazing cast to adapt this iconic franchise at Peacock.”

The series has been in the works for years–
Following the success of The Best Man Holiday, fans were eager to see the third film. However, the story is set to conclude over 10 episodes in the Peacock limited series. Apparently, it has been in the works for years, though it’s likely the script was tweaked since it will be seen in series form instead of on the big screen.

“It’s great that people want it. It’s great that people want to do it. So we’ll see what ends up happening,” Diggs told Entertainment Tonight in March 2021. “We haven’t even read the script yet. I have no idea. That was one of the things that we asked for, was to see the script,” he added. “And I don’t know how much is changed from, I think the script was written years ago, but I don’t know how it has changed.”
