On Saturday, April 22nd, Arc Sai Music, in Association with The DROP 104.7, KUVO JAZZ 89.3 and The Music Advancement Fund of Denver Arts and Venues proudly present the inaugural edition of SUCH Soul Sessions! SUCH Soul Sessions is a collaboration between Denver Soul/R&B artists and artists from other parts of the country that puts music and community first. The project will musically enrich underserved and underrepresented communities by diversifying the acts they have access to, supporting local talent, and making Denver a touring attraction for independent Soul/R&B. The headline artist for April 22nd is Award-winning songwriter/performer Gordon Chambers. The Brooklyn, New York resident first rose to prominence authoring Anita Baker’s Grammy winning song “I Apologize” and Brownstone’s breakthrough hit “If You Love Me”. He has written songs for the likes of Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Yolanda Adams, Aretha Franklin, Trey Songz to name a few, in addition to releasing four acclaimed solo albums. Also featured will be Denver’s own emerging, soulful songstress, Wellington Bullings. With a rich sultry voice and a natural elegance, it’s easy to see why she is making a name for herself in the world of Neo Soul and beyond. SUCH Soul Sessions is the brainchild and culmination of a conversation between R&B/Soul singer, songwriter and actress SUCH and her manager Kevin Harewood of EDclectic Entertainment. Realizing that Denver was a relatively untouched market for independent R&B/Soul artists, they saw an opportunity to hold a recurring event that would not only celebrate the brilliance of local artists and musicians but would create an opportunity for Denver Soul/R&B music lovers to experience some of their favorite independent artists they otherwise might not be able to see. SUCH Soul Sessions will take place at The Masterpiece Theater of Rocky Mountain Public Radio Saturday, April 22nd at 7pm.
