dee dee conchetaHearts are heavy in Atlanta with news of the passing of PR and marketing veteran Dee Dee Concheta. The family of Dee Dee Cocheta-Williams confirmed this past Friday that Williams passed from complications with breast cancer. She fought her battle with a tenacious, resilient spirit.

The Portland, OR native launched her company, A.B.C. Publicity, in 1999. Dee Dee developed innovative PR and marketing campaigns for hundreds of independent and Grammy® winning artists and producers.  Her marketing and publicity savvy was confirmed when the Atlanta Journal Constitution dubbed her the “maestro of marketing.” Her rolodex landed her clients on and in major radio, print and TV outlets on the national and international level.

The fund originally established to pay for her medical bills is now being used to pay for her home-going celebration. Donations can be made via www.youcaring.com.  Dee Dee is survived by her husband Fred, seven children, three grandchildren and legions of industry fans (yes, fans) and friends.  Arrangements are still being finalized and will be posted as they are received.

There are not a few words to describe who she was and how she lived. To partially describe Dee Dee is to say, she was a lover of life and people, as well as a motivator, teacher, nurturer, mother, wife and grandmother who now has flown into the arms of heavenly angels. RIP my sister.
