Ken Johnson’s first job in radio was as a sports announcer at WOL-Washington DC (the Radio One station, but before it was owned by Radio One); he later went on to work for Greater Media at their Oldies station in Boston. He was there for 4 years and got great experience before moving over to WILD. Ken left WILD to go to WHUR-Washington and began doing mornings. He later went back to Boston to program WILD and do mornings. In the late ‘90’s Ken moved to Wilmington, NC to program and do afternoons at the Cumulus owned Kiss 94. From there, he transitioned to Stratford Research and later back to Cumulus Broadcasting –over seeing as many as 32 stations in 16 markets including the Caribbean. In ‘98 he moved to ABC Radio Networks where he worked with Doug Banks, Big Boy and created the Brian McKnight Show. After spending 3 years with Clear Channel in Philadelphia, Ken has spent the last year back with Cumulus as Operations Manager in Birmingham. Ken is single with no children.
