Radio One Cleveland has announced that Bill Black will be the new Operations Manager. Bill joins the team from WHTA (Hot 107.9) in Atlanta, GA where he held the title of Assistant Program Director & Music Director. He will begin on Monday March 10, 2014. “I’m excited to welcome Bill Black back home to Cleveland. We have no doubt that Bill’s vast experience and understanding of our market will help secure and expand our reach as the #1 multimedia company in the Greater Cleveland area,” says Eddie Harrell, Radio One Cleveland’s Vice President/General Manager. A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Bill has worked at five radio stations in the southeast region including WXVI, WZHT, WXFE, WHXT, and currently WHTA, where he is one of the creative forces behind the station. Bill’s current station, Hot 107.9, is responsible for launching the careers of T.I., Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka, Travis Porter, 2Chainz, and more. Hot 107.9 is also the launching pad of radio talents like Rickey Smiley, DJ Drama, DJ Scream, DJ Traci Steele, DJ Babey Drew, Mz Shyneka and more. Bill credits success in the radio industry to his faith in God and years of experience in building a better Hot 107.9 as the Assistant Program Director and Music Director. “I’m excited to raise my family in my hometown as well as expand my radio family as Operations Manager of Radio One Cleveland,” says Bill Black.
