There is apparently some value in being despondent over the death of your favorite artist, albeit not a very large one. According to reports, a group of Michael Jackson fans were able to convince a court they had suffered emotional damage. In their quest to be taken seriously, the fans went as far as to present medical records and witness statements to prove their case. The verdict stemmed from a lawsuit 34 MJ fans filed against Dr. Conrad Murray, whose lethal dose of anesthesia was ruled as Michael’s cause of death. Each of the 34 fans walked out of court with a whopping $1.36 for their “trauma.”  Their attorney stated the fans will not be claiming their $1.36, but hope the verdict acts as a symbolic victory.  Perhaps if MJ’s estate were to hire the same attorney, their legal challenges may not be such a mess.
