margo sings1Sensational Soul Saturday returned to “My Living Room” at Bar Nineteen 12 inside the historic Beverly Hills Hotel last Saturday as stellar R&B singer Margo Thunder and her band once again turned the place out with classic soul covers and choice current hits like Pharrell’s “Happy” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”. Margo is the consummate performer and even though she was “under the weather” she still delivered an outstanding show. Bravo! The room was filled with current and former industry executives and artists. One of the night’s standouts was an impromptu performance by Lonnie Jordan, long-time keyboard player for the group War. It was amazing!

The event also recognized the recent accomplishments of radio legend JJ Johnson, who recently published his first e-book, “Life In Music Radio”; available for digital download at Amazon.com. Congratulations!  Notables getting their party on included actors Slink Johnson and Valenzia Algarin from Aaron McGruder’s forthcoming series “Black Jesus”; Ira Fields, Rick Nuhn, Jay Michaels, Ken Reynolds, Terri Christiano, Amilia Patterson, Diane Rodgers, Joan Scott and many others. Special thanks to Bar Nineteen 12, Joan Scott, Eddie Simms and Belinda Wilson (B, you’re the best!)
