Cumulus

Baisden2It was March 2013 when Cumulus Media Networks syndicated radio host Michael Baisden posted a commentary on his Facebook page, writing “It’s Not About The Job It’s About The Journey (Yes, I’m leaving radio).” At the time, Baisden claimed Cumulus locked him out during stalled contract negotiations.

Now, 14 months later, Cumulus has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Dallas, alleging Baisden and his production company were accidentally paid for 15 months after he left.  The company is seeking $1 million from Baisden.

In the filing, Cumulus writes, “this accounting error caused BE to receive an additional $66,666.67 for each of the fifteen (15) payments—an overpayment of approximately $1,000,000.00—money that he was not entitled to receive under either the Agreement or its Amendments.” And added, Baisden has “steadfastly refused to return the overpaid amounts,” and allowing him to keep the overpayment would be a “gross inequity and would be unconscionable.”
