BET loglIn a move that BET executives call giving the audience what they’ve been looking for, prepare for the following and don’t blame me.

BET is handing out “reality” series these days like 1970’s government cheese .Grab your popcorn and get ready for shows starring rapper Nelly(does this indicate his exit Real Husbands of Hollywood?), a return into the world of Keyshia Cole and a show starring Meet the Browns stars David and Tamela Mann.

keyshia-cole

The yet to be titled Keyshia Cole series includes her never ending emotional personal journey , her unstable marriage to NBA free agent Daniel Gibson, her career, motherhood and continuing family struggles. One can only wonder if that means updates on mother Frankie, sister Neffie and ’em!

NellyThe yet to be named Nelly show, will focus his hip-hop career, fashion business, co-ownership of the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats and fathering his biological children and those of his late sister, Jackie Donahue, all while balancing a relationship with Miss Jackson( Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s ex). I guess there will be no Ashanti cameos! Inquiring minds want to know, will Nelly still need to prove he has not abandoned the St. Lunatics??

tamela mann and davidFinally, the untitled Mann’s foray into “reality” follows David and Tamela Mann, a staple of Tyler Perry projects, at home with their four adult children, at exclusive events and with their famous friends…… (Crickets).

This can only mean two things…..somebody needs a check or somebody has a new project they want to promote on the dime of someone else!

Also on tap at BET, a dramatic six-part miniseries, “The Book of Negroes,” based on the prize-winning novel by Lawrence Hill. Oscar® winners Cuba Gooding Jr. and Louis Gossett Jr. along with Aunjanue Ellis are slated to star in the project. There is hope……
