New Artist: iLoveMakonnen

When I’m introduced to a new artist who I find talented, and that artist starts getting shine, it’s an incredible feeling. Atlanta based rapper/singer/producer iLoveMakonnen is the next cat to out of Atlanta to look out for. There’s a long list of factors which make iLoveMakonnen a one of a kind artist. Could it be the lo-fi signature sound, the octave ranging melodic vocals, or just the swag that dude brings to everything he does? I first got him to iLoveMakonnen back in April through the lounge lizard vibe track “Sneaky Lady.” He’s working with top notch producers like Metro Boomin’ and Sonny Digital, who have worked with the likes of Future and Wiz Khalifa. A Kid Cudi or B.o.B. fan would find iLoveMakonnen as an easy fit. The smash single “Tuesday” even got the attention of Drake, and and Drizzy hopped on with a verse that sent shock throughout the internet. You heard it here first people.
