BET Hip Hop Awards vs iHeart Radio Fest

The 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards ceremony was taped this past weekend in Atlanta (Zzz). For a variety of reasons, it was not a hot ticket or a “can’t miss” event. One executive, requesting anonymity, exited the festivities describing this BET event as Boring, Excruciating and Time-consuming!! As with most award ceremonies, the real “hang” is at pre or post special events and parties!

There were a few notable moments aside from the real sisters of hip hop, Queen Latifah, Yo-Yo and MC Lyte  in the building. The Cypher, should be a separate show, Doug E. Fresh finally getting his props with the I Am Hip Hop Award and the Mike Brown tribute showed that BET does care about important issues.

There are all of the usual suspects in the building again, fashion hits, misses, malfunctions and disasters. I will however give the host Snoop Dogg/Lion three blunts up for keeping the audience awake. You can be the judge on October 14 during the BET Hip Hop Awards broadcast.

The real tea was going down in Vegas at the Usher (baby) and Chris Brown Dance-Off during iHeart Radio Festival. I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for the two to tour, but a special guest drive-by hear and there isn’t out of the question. The two performed “New Flame” as Usher left no question as to who or what, when he removed his Jordans and set them on fire!…. Las Vegas HEAT was in full effect as the two heirs to Michael Jackson and James Brown went it!! Some say Brown won the battle, while others say Usher reminded him who’s the boss. At the end of the day, two talented brothers and friends came together to “give the people what they want.” Sorry BET, iHeart trumped you on this one from top to bottom!!
