The National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters and the NABOB Foundation begin the 38th Annual Fall Broadcast Management Conference in cooperation with the 14th Power of Urban Radio Forum in Washington DC.

NABOB is the only trade association representing the interests of 200 Black-owned commercial radio stations and four commercial television stations around the country.

The conference kicks off with the panel “The Importance of Local Programming in the Age Of Media Abundance.”  The discussion will be moderated by TAXI PRODUCTIONS VP/GM Urban AC KAREN SLADE KJLH (102.3)/LOS ANGELES.  The panelists will be GRAY COMMUNICATIONS Pres./CEO TONY GRAY, HOWARD UNIVERSITY OM MAXX MYRICK Urban AC WHUR (96.3)/WASHINGTON D. C. and ALL ACCESS MUSIC GROUP Urban/Urban AC Editor SAM WEAVER.

The panel will address how programming Black radio has changed over the years and why smart advertisers still look to Black radio’s loyal listener base.

NABOB Exec. Dir./General Council James L. Winston comments, ” We have a long history of bringing together important speakers to share information with our members.  This year we have an outstanding list of speakers including FCC Commissioner TOM WHEELER and Commissioners MIGNON CLYBURN, AJIT PAI, and MICHAEL O’RIUELLY.  During our two-day conference we will be discussing many important issues including the proposed mergers of COMCAST & TIME WARNER CABLE and AT&T & DIRECT TV.”
