Jurassic 5 member Chali 2NA paints a mural for LA elementary school

Los Angeles rapper Chali 2NA has been referred to as the ambassador for Jurassic 5 – though he is well-known for being a member of J5, he has appeared alongside many artists and on a variety of albums and compilations. He also was a founding member of Ozomatli, and though he is no longer an official part of the group, he has appeared on a number of their subsequent albums.

Located in Mar Vista, just 3 miles from Venice Beach. Grand View Blvd. Elementary which offers a Spanish Immersion Program, is the FIRST and ONLY 90:10 immersion model in all of LAUSD. The school has been undergoing a series of renovation projects to not only beautify the campus but also to celebrate its diversity.

“Here at Grand View we are more than just a school. We are a community and we want our murals and art work to reflect the beautiful cultural diversity of our students and staff. Chali 2NA, from Jurassic 5, has volunteered to paint our vision of this diversity”, says Tonya King, Project Manager, volunteer and parent of a 2nd grader at the school. “We are proud and excited to have Chali 2NA help us manifest our vision.”
