Felishia MonetWEDR-Miami has promoted Felisha Monet from nights up into afternoons. She replaces Lorenzo “Ice Tee” Thomas, who did the shift for 11 years before he exited two weeks ago. Monet (left) has been with Jamz for over five years and has hosted the station’s No. 1 night show, The Take Over for the past two years. “Felisha is such a key player here at Cox Media Group Miami; she approaches each day with amazing energy and passion,” said CMG Miami VP/GM Rob Babin. “It’s very exciting to see her take on this new role on 99 Jamz!”

Monet made her radio debut at WVHT (Hot 105.7)/Tallahassee, FL in 2001. She later worked for WBWT (100.7 The Beat) before joining CMG Miami.  “I am humbled and excited to accept the new position of afternoons,” said Monet. “I would like to thank CMG’s radio leadership team — Derrick Baker, Rob Babin, Tony Kidd, Steve Smith and Kim Guthrie for this amazing opportunity!” WEDR Director of Branding & Programming Derrick comments that nights on WEDR are currently open — part-timer/mixer DJ Nasty will cover the shift until a permanent replacement is named.
