Steve Crumbley, New PD at WXST/WMXZ-Charleston Kevin Fleming January 12, 2015 Music News, Radio Buzz Veteran programmer/air talent Steve Crumbley has been hired by Apex Broadcasting as the new PD of Urban AC WXST (Star 99.7) and Urban WMXZ HD-2 (99.3 The Box)/Charleston, SC. Crumbley most notably spent eight years as OM of SummitMedia’s Greenville, SC cluster and PD of Urban WJMZ (107.3 Jamz) until September of 2013, when his position was eliminated. For the past year he’s been doing afternoons on Cox Media Urban AC WHJX (Hot 106.5)/Jacksonville. Crumbley succeeds Michael Tee, who passed away last November after a battle with colon cancer.
