Apex Broadcasting Hires Radio Vet Steve Crumbley

Radio veteran Steve Crumbley joins Apex Broadcasting and transitions to the upstate’s (S.C.) second largest city to assume the reigns as PD of Charleston’s top rated UAC Star 99.7(WXST) and Urban Mainstream 99.3 The Box(WMXZ) beginning January 19, 2015. Most recently Crumbley commanded PM drive for Cox Media Group’s Adult R&B WHJX (HOT 106.5) in Jacksonville, FL.  Prior to his recent return to the airwaves, he served as OM of Summit Media’s four station cluster in Greenville, SC.

In a previously released statement VP/GM David Abel said, “I had the pleasure of working with him when I was Sales Manager in Greenville, SC.  He is one of the premier urban programmers in the country.  We are excited because he has a long track record of programming dominating radio stations.  This past fall we lost a great programmer and longtime employee with the untimely passing of Michael Tee, so we feel very fortunate to have someone of Steve’s caliber coming in to maintain and build on our past successes with STAR 99.7 and 99.3 THE BOX.”
