Columbia Records President Ashley Newton will be leaving Sony Music for Capitol Music Group, where he will take on the role of CMG President and EVP/Creative-Special Projects for Universal Music Group.
ashley-newtonNewton was appointed President of Columbia in 2010, and had previously held senior A&R positions at RCA Records and Virgin Records UK, with his career starting at Island Records in the U.K. under Chris Blackwell.
