Back in April at L.A.’s Noise in the Hood Festival I had the pleasure of meeting a crew out of Hollywood called Shoreline Mafia. Although seeming to appear with over a dozen members, Shorline Mafia’s duo emcees are Fenix and Ohgeesy.
Style wise, Shorline Mafia is trap rap with a West Coast twist. It’s the combination of fly street-wear apparel and the assortment of various drugs that make the crew what it is. Although I don’t personally condone the use of such substances, there’s just something I really dig about these guys aesthetic. You can’t deny that Shorline Mafia is perhaps the dopest group name you’ve heard all year. Now lyrically, I’ve heard better- However, the tracks just go hard and it’s good to know that up and comers in L.A. are capable of this.
Overall, I see a lot of potential with Shorline Mafia. After skimming over some of their projects on soundcloud, I’m looking forward to hearing more.
