BET Networks has announced it acquired this year’s No.1 new talk show, Sony Pictures Television’s “The Queen Latifah Show,” to air as part of its late-night talk show block beginning Monday, March 31.

“The Queen Latifah Show” as a daytime, talk-variety series has out-rated virtually all of its competition. The host, Queen Latifah, who has become a global entertainment icon, has shown that she’s well adapted to a format featuring top notched musical guests, celebrity interviews and everyday heroes who are changing lives in their local communities. The show has been renewed for a second season by CBS Stations.

In BET’s late night lineup, “The Queen Latifah Show” will join long running strip, “The Wendy Williams Show,” as part of a first-run late-night talk block. BET had previously announced its acquisition of the Fox network’s day-timer, “The Real,” which is set to debut Fall 2014.

The Queen Latifah Show is produced by Flavor Unit, Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television. Corin Nelson serves as Executive Producer.
