There’s a lot of wonderful musicians who come out of nowhere. They might fall right into that style the indie buzz is constantly searching for, but we don’t get a hold of them until later. Sometimes although we don’t initially fall in love with an artist, overtime, we may enjoy to appreciate his or her music. There’s a couple acts who’ve excelled in 2014, who we are hopping on the band wagon with.

1. SZA

Top Dawg Entertainment’s fresh female face SZA, has an unique style who the game’s been needing for God knows how long. SZA is the perfect combination of artistic ability and sensuality. Just listen to her on “Child’s Play” (Feat. Chance the Rapper) and see for yourself. The sample of “About You” by XXYYXX is enticing! Also make sure to play “Babylon.” It features none other than TDE’s Kendrick Lamar. SZA’s most recent project was her sophomore mixtape Z. She has some dope videos that I’ll be posting as well.

2. PARTYNEXTDOOR

Sometime in 2013 Drake signed Toronto electronic R&B artist Party Next Door (stylized as PARTYNEXTDOOR) to his collective imprint OVO. PARTYNEXTDOOR sits alongside The Weeknd and now iLoveMaknonen on OVO. He has such a dope style that’s practically made for stealing a hater’s girlfriend at an after-party. You can’t go anywhere this fall without hearing the smash hit “Recognize” featuring Drake. I am such a fan of the cinematography in that video.
