Def Jam Ups Leesa Brunson to SVP of A&R

Leesa Brunson has been upped to SVP of A&R Operations for Def Jam Recordings. In her newly expanded role, Brunson will supervise all day-to-day operations of the department, on behalf of all artists on Def Jam and its affiliate labels. Her duties will include acting as liaison between A&R and all departments to ensure the successful and timely delivery of album releases, as well as communicating with artists, producers and artist management to obtain key production and clearance related information. The New York-based Brunson reports directly to Def Jam EVP Dion “No I.D.” Wilson, who called her “one of the cornerstones of Def Jam.” He continued, “For more than a decade, her close, trusted relationships with both our artists and their managers has ensured that the music gets delivered, and we stay true to our release schedules. Her expertise in the field of A&R Operations is renowned throughout the industry, and we couldn’t be more proud of announcing this well-deserved promotion.” Brunson joined the Def Jam A&R Operations Department as Manager in 2001, and rose through positions of increased responsibilities prior to her promotion to Vice President in 2010.
